"The Gospel Accorded To A Wild Hare", 8x10", etching, aquatint, drypoint, engraving on Rives BFK

"The Gospel Accorded To A Wild Hare"

#3 I thought becoming a grandfather would make me feel old.... "Your children are having children of their own." It is definitely one of those life affirming moments, but bifocals, male pattern baldness and arthiritis have done more to remind me of my mortality than anything else.
A grandchild brings a new felt warmness of hope and intense love. The child in you awakens to a new playmate. It's OK to be silly. You're a grandpa... they won't call the guys in white coats just yet. So, indulge yourself as you rescue the princess from a cardboard tower. A knight's reward is a hug and kiss from her while you share a gallon of ice cream. You have years to teach, much to share and a world in which to demonstrate how to dream.

"The Ascetic", 3x4", etching on Rives BFK, ed.20

"The Ascetic", 3x4"

I consider the studio "sanctuary" where I get my dose of spiritual rejuvenation. I even go as far as to call mine an hermitage. It is where I manage to escape the world and all of it's crap. The one place that allows me to be left alone with the bare minimum I need to practice(don) a habit of scholarship, self discipline, devotion, and honest self criticism. And every now and then I get lucky..... learn something new..... accomplish something..... gain a little more insight..... allowed enlightenment.
